Burlington hires Brent Rousey as new Superintendent
Burlington’s new superintendent will come with a wealth of experience in northwest Oklahoma. Burlington Public Schools board members unanimously approved the hiring of Brent Rousey as the school district’s next superintendent.
Rousey, who has 47 years of experience in education has had stops at Picher, Greeley County (KS), Medford, Timberlake, Garber, Drummond and Cimarron, comes with a vast knowledge and skills. Rousey has experience as a superintendent, principal, counselor, coach and teacher.
Rousey said he planned to immediately start meeting with staff and get a “game plan” going for next year.
Rousey also has experience working with construction projects in his past, most recently at Drummond. His experience in this area will be instrumental in moving forward with the bond project recently passed.
With ties to northwest Oklahoma, Rousey will be right at home and continue with the success that Burlington is known for historically.
School Board President Robert Hill stated “We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Rousey to our school family, and we are confident he is the right choice to lead our district, our community, staff and students. Mr. Rousey has high expectations for our school.”
